  • bin laden has been killed by the US army...

    opinions please?

Personally i don't think it is any need for celebration. Death is never a need for celebration, although I know in the US they still kill people on death row so their opinion of it is obviously different.

But Osama's death does not cure the real problem - radical Islam - and the fact that the lives of his victims, both western 9/11 victims, soldiers and the middle eastern nationals who have been killed in the war, will never be given back.

Justice has not been done Obama.

I fear there will be reprisals.

I agree with you Flum. As Jeanid put very eloquently the chat thread...

My fear is that he will now become a martyr to the cause and it could cause reprisals.

Agree with what's already been said, bin Laden was just one man, the threat continues.

Now we just have to wait for all the conspiracy theories ...

Makes me very uneasy, as others have said. He was, after all, only a figurehead. Al Quaeeda (sp?) will surely carry on without him.

Exactly my point - so not really a cause for celebration. He will be a martyr - as he (in his supporters eyes) will have descended into 'heaven' and has carried out god's will. I put money on him killing himself, rather than being taken by the american army alive.

This is not good news at all.

                  I don't believe it.
Is Obama up for re-election or something?

I agree. One death doesn't bring an end to the problem.

If its true its a step in the right direction.

Yes there will be attempted reprisals and some may succeed, but there would have been more attacks anyway.

The alternative would be to give in to the attackers sorry but thats not my style.

                            A few points here.

                            1. I heard that he was buried at sea, Is that correct? If so that would be very unusual for a Muslim country unless I am Mistaken.

                            2. I the circles I move in it has been the thought that Binladden died years ago 2002, Perchanic a white house source stated they had him on ice so if this tyrant as he was labelled why did they not show proof of his death as they did with Saddam Hussain?

                            3. What is radical Islam? As I see it Islam has been a victim just the same as our own troops are victims of these illegal wars ( That's my opinion on these wars in the Middle East ) If a foreign army came in and murdered your family would that lead people to become radical?

                            4. If we are fighting Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, why then are we arming them in Libya ( It has been admitted that the Taliban make up and guide the rebels in Lybia.

                            5. Their is increasing evidence that 9/11 and possibly 7/7 may have been orchestrated as a reason to introduce draconian anti terror laws and remove freedoms.

                            6. We support wars in other countries by just accepting what the controlled media tell us that these people where behind the bombings and attacks on the twin towers but no one stops and thinks who is actually benefiting from these supposed humanitarian attacks which have left thousands dead many of them our own armed forces.

                            7. I'm already seeing statements about reprisals I just see the supposed threats of reprisals as another way to keep people in fear. Yes there may be but who from? Read up on False Flag operations.

I don't buy the official line given by our government and the puppet controlled media.

The people benefiting here are the arms manufacturers the globalists who own all these big corporations making money from death and destruction. The people taking control of the resources but use the issues as a way to explain the rising oil prices.

We all have our views on this subject. I have only put my view across from the research I have done which people may say are just conspiracy theories. But most of the stuff that has been labelled as Theories have turned out to be fact.

I have already seen remarks about conspiracy theorist. Problem is most people who label have not or can't be bothered to research and just accept one view..

I say bring our armed forces home and stop spending Billions on these wars when we are supposed to have so little money the government has made major cuts and increase taxes etc.

I just don't buy all this not at all this is not all black and white look at the grey areas between.

And no I am not pro or anti just giving alternative opinions on all this.

                            Bill

He was already a 'martyr' if you like. He was a figurehead - but more than that, an intelligent, charismatic man with no little ability and no doubt access to money.

I cannot lie, I am glad he's dead and I generally take no joy in anyone's death. But it will be difficult to replace such a man and so it is better to have him dead now and out of the equation. Terrorism was never going to die with Bin Laden but I think it will be less well organised.

There was an interesting piece on the radio earlier where the reporter said that a terrorist group who'd captured some French nationals had appealed to Bin Laden for funds...well they won't be getting them now will they.
