  • Five Favourites

Right people lets have your 5 favourite songs - ie if all music was to be destroyed and you could only save 5 songs what would they be?
Remember its only a bit of fun.
Mine are (in no particular order)
1 - Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall
2 -The Who - Pinball Wizard
    3- Oasis - Gas panic
    4 - AC/DC -Thunderstruck
5 -Bob Segar - Night Moves
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

      Ooo good thread!

      1. Gigantic - Pixies
      2. Creep - Radiohead

Finding it hard to put further ones in order, but at the moment it seems to be going like this:

      3. The Final Cut - Pink Floyd
      4. Rise - P.I.L.
      5. Dakota - Stereophonics

After the 1st 2 that was soooo hard - there were so many that I would like to have put as joint 3rd / 4th / 5th, but I've been ruthless & settled for those above.
      I've had my weetabix...

Brewer again, I love that Barclay James Harvest Mockingbird track - recently managed to transfer it from the old LP gathering dust to my ipod - fabulous. Would it be on my top 5 tho...?

Hmm, only 5 is tough. S'pose I will have to leave out Rocket Man by Elton John....
        1. (Talk to me of) Mendocino by Kate and Anna McGarrigal
        2. Home thoughts from Abroad, Clifford T Ward
        3. Song for R, The Be Good Tanyas
        4. Catch the Wind, Donovan
        5. Ribbons Undone, Tori Amos.
All at once I hear your voice
        And time just slips away

                      Possibly subject to change

I think this is the top 5 (in no particular order)

                      1 - Sexuality, Billy Bragg
2 - Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves (Nabucco), Verdi
                      3 - Don't stop me now, Queen
4 - Surf's up , Jim Steinman (not the naff meatloaf version)
                      5 - Bullet the Blue Sky, U2

All picked for the emotional effect and singalongability. There are loads of others and this list could be subject to change at any time. Choices can go up and down. Your hearing is at risk if played too loud.
                      Bright Blessings

Well, I've been thinking about the Desert Island Disks ............

                        The next three would be:

You are so beautiful, Joe Cocker
                        Blue, Joni Mitchell
                        Introduction and Allegro, Elgar

And if I can smuggle it in the ultimate garden song - In the Garden by Van Morrison

No Bible or Shakespeare thank you.

Complete works of the Huguenot Society of Great Britain instead of both the above, would keep me occupied for years.

Luxury would be seeds and my whole gardening kit and internet access on lap top which didn't need a battery and so I could keep up to date here.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
