excellent thread! Classic displacement activity for the work I should be doing but have not even started.

Impossible to have 5 though. Got it down to 10 which was hard enough and took enough time to get me past the 5pm mark so I cant make the phonecalls I've been supposed to.

      Here they are:-

Could it Be Magic - Although cheating because I'll need both versions. Bazza's because it is brilliant and Take That's which is equally brilliant and the best dance floor song ever!

Coldplay - Fix You - Ignored this until someone I know made a digital image download of her rescue greyhound with this playing over it. Left me grief stricken.

Paul Simon Late in the Evening - funky driving music!

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Wonderful World if you've heard this you'll understand

Stevie Wonder I Believe (When I fall in Love with You) - plenty of other steve wonder songs but this just has the edge

Joe Brown - Stepping Out - Brilliant

Elgar - Nimrod from Enigma Variations - brilliantly brilliant

Rodrigo - Concierto de Aranjuez - just as good performed by brass (as in the movie brassed off) as done by guitars. Moving stuff.

Wuthering Heights - Not whiney Kate though. The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain - literally unbelievable!!

The Alarm - 68 Guns. Missed this originally as was more of a Duran Durannie type teen. However saw it performed live a few years back (was working late at the theatre that night and went through through the wrong door!) and it and the crowd blew me away.

Choosing a luxury: my dogs. OH and kids could cope admirably on their own. However no one understands my mad hounds like me!!

Choosing a book: Susan Cooper, The Dark is Rising Sequence. Stunning.

Oooh! Marillion - Market Square heres, fab track! Seen them live twice, and got the album sleeve autographed at the Manchester Apollo by the whole group!

Duran Duran - The Chauffeur, brilliant track!

The Alarm - 68 Guns, fab, saw them live once, got the album on vinyl too, really good album, not one bad track on it!

Wow, we are a mixed bunch, aren't we? Some excellent music being picked though. I think we can say goodbye to the myth that grow-your-owners are elderly gentlemen with time on their hands, don't you think

everytime I think I have my 5 songs someone makes another sugestion (aerosmith - I love that song)
But also I want to include all those songs played at a certain time in my life which mean a lot because of the feelings I had then ( the final countdown - Europe, lots of hormones )

maybe we should start another thread, your most embarrassing favorite 5 songs
