I don't really see the issue - stick the sign up with it incase, but the majority are sold for keeping the poultry safe from predators (regardless of waht predators they are, badger, fox, or in your case human). I can't see any zapped lowlife trying to sue you for having ajolt whilst trying to steal your chickens.

I can't believe they did that though, disgusting. You want your OH on sentry duty with an airrifle too. "ooh, sorry I thought it was the fox taking the chickens again!".

They waited till Madmax had returned to work (away) before striking. I am really unsettled to think of the amount of research they had to do to come into our garden (over possibly two other properties) and avoid all the mantraps that I have around the place - bags of compost, brambles, stumps, buckets, plants etc..

Indeed, it is worrying for you - I'd be concerned myself. You need to get a fiesty cockerel that does NOT like to be handled Or put a few badgers in the coop

Sorry Shirl,I got the wrong end of the stick maybe because if they were my chooks I would be thinking of 240v and about 45 amps.

As the others have said doing it your way should present no problem not half as much fun though.

Ever thought of carpet gripper if we can come up with an excuse for it to be there on the fence.

          Good luck Colin

'fortifying' the existing run with an inconspicuous (but all too easy to touch) single 'wire' (the plastic string with wires in seems to be the most useful) would work well. If there is no reason for anyone to legitimately be touching the fence, I don't think you even need a sign (best check with DEFRA, but don't tell them it is for burglars, mention foxes and stray cats). A low wire (6" off the ground and 6" outside the fence) plus one at 'top-of-fence' level is normal to deter foxes, but an extra one at waist height would be good against 2 legged pests.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
