Thank you TonyF. Nice to have the reassurance I am not doing something illegal. Also seems from other postings that it is me and everyone else buying seeds when on holiday.

Summer, also need to look at it the other way around as well - there are plenty of Brits living in Europe who buy their seeds when they go back to the UK on holiday (can't imagine why tho, the seeds are usually cheaper and more variety here) and a lot of us who subscribe to gardening mags who get their seed freebies sent out with the mags.

        Hi all

Went to the garden centre yesterday - dragged hubby along to carry things - and came back with yet more seeds. I literally cannot resist them. I now have hooligan and snowman pumpkin seeds along with more basil and courgettes. What is wrong with me

Also realised when I got home that I'd only been charged for 1 netted cloche. They were on offer, buy 2 get 3rd free, but I ended up with 3 and only paid for 1. Feel like a criminal now.

BTW anyone grown snowman pumpkins before?

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I have just read a posting from this hilarious thread to my o/h starting with "I'm a seedaholic" and he just said "when did you write that then?" I'm ashamed to admit but when taking the children to the pictures the other day I used them, yes used my own darlings by saying we would go the Woolies for pic and mix when all I really needed was to get my hands on some more leek seeds. Of course they are buy one get one free so just had to buy half a dozen packs including yet more toms and pay for them upstairs out of sight. Kids were happy though, they had fill their boots with pig n'mix and were amazed when I just said Oh lovely, fine, great as I was high on a 'rush' from buying seeds!
My kitchen drawers are stuffed full. Will end up giving them away on seed swap so can't be all bad can it?

Today I bought Shredded Wheat because there was a packet of Love in a A Mist as a free gift. Am I totally beyond redemption?
My children now look at me in sheer horror if shredded wheat have the seed packets on. They had the same offer last year and the kids made me promise I wouldn't make them eat shredded wheat of any variety ever again. Oh god my children are suffering to fund my habit.

                        • I can't comment LJ. A conversation at the weekend reminded me that I had intended to get some White Sage and my Angelica has failed, so online it was to the one place I knew I would find it and I end up spending over £13. Oops!

Well I couldn't order two diddy packets with £1.50 ish postage could I.

Fortunately Mr EB isn't counting. Phew!

                          • Had to go to the GC for a few bits n bobs yesterday, and we both found ourselves back at the seeds again! We couldnt find the Lathom Self Blanching Cellery seeds that we know we have got, so ended up just 'having a quick look' perhaps to replace them, but then spotted another of their 3 for 2 offers, so ended up buying another 4 packets of seeds, more celery (Tango & Giant Pascal varieties), more beetroot (Chioggia Pink) and some Little Gem Lettuce (as if we hadnt already got enough lettuce and salad leaves! But Mr D fancied them, so thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

I'm sorry, it felt soooooooo goood with those ickle packets of seed in my fingers, made me feel like a real gardener, I know I cant possibly eat everything we have if it all grows, but I just cant help myself!

(Mrs D hangs her head in shame and shuffles off to surrepticiously find the seed compost and some pots)

I'll try harder to resist next time, honest!
                            Blessings

                            • Next problem is that you'll not have enough compost to plant all these seeds, which means another trip to the garden center and then you'll walk past the seeds and.............................

                              • I spent most of the day yesterday puting up cane wigwams all over the place, then realised that the beans that I bought to give a try are dwarf french. Which means I will just HAVE to go and buy some more peas or beans or something that climbs, otherwise yesterday was a wasted day. At least thats what the O H will be made to think. Maybe if I take the kids they will HAVE to pick some seeds as well.
