I don't like to complain, especially when something is free, but I just thought maybe I am doing something wrong or maybe the moderators are not aware, but I can't view posts and threads of an individual (including myself), when I click on posts and thread history, as I would like to view my old posts and threads. I just get a white page.

Frustrating though, isn't it? I think Rusty Lady and I have turned into Grumpy old Grapes because of it!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Frustrations are ( if anyone's interested) finding responses to threads without the original thread itself, there's a particularly nasty apparently political one......if these are not to be reactivated/ commented upon, why are they still up there?
Find it disconcerting that two people 'like' that you ask why I'm reactivating a thread....sad! Get a life!
Weird that people are having 'conversations' via song titles!
Thought this was a genuine gardening site, so obviously this is not for me!
Did appreciate the good advice when it appeared, though. So thanks for that.

It's a shame you feel this way, I have had some great advice and learnt so much from this forum. I totally get the song titles thing, so I never open them. They don't bother me at all now. Some things are silly sometimes, but you just have to gloss over what you don't like and read the best bits. I must repeat how useful this forum and it's members have been to meNannys make memories

To find your own posts, and/or responses to those posts, just click on settings up on the very top right of the page. To find serious gardening threads, click on any board title other than 'General ChitChat,, or threads named 'Just for Fun'... To find friendly responses to any query at all, just ask nicely

As a newcomer to tablet use, I'm afraid I have to echo some of Raybon's comments. It has just taken me a good ten minutes to find my way back to this thread in my iPad. I didn't make a note of the thread title, and when I accidentally came out of it I couldn't find my way back.
To be fair, I'm not sure if it's my inexperience with tablets and apps, or if it just isn't intuitive enough. It's a real shame to lose users because of it. I will post a separate reply to Raybon, just in case he finds his way back. All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

It is not 'sad' that people have 'liked' your post, it is their way of expressing support - they agree with what you said. As do I.
The song titles thread is in the 'daft' side of the forum, where those of us with noting else to do, get together and have a laugh. It is very social, and lots of real friendships have been made there. Many users meet up in person, and. I believe there has even been a marriage!! (Although I may be wrong on that point). You should hang around for the Panto (yes, really), in the winter - it's mental!
This IS a genuine garden site, not only that, but it is THE BEST gardening site, if you stay, you'll discover that for yourself.
The good advice keeps coming, it's just that (I think) the App is not intuitive. Try and have a look at the 'proper' site on a computer, and you'll see how it's actually laid out, which will make it easier to understand.
Good luck!Last edited by Glutton4...; 23-03-2014, 07:34 PM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

For app users
If you responded to a thread, use participated to find it.
If it's a thread you only read and is recent, use timeline.
To filter the ones you've read use unread
To get rid of the annoying signature the app keeps insisting on appending even though you keep switching off, leave on, just delete the signature to make it blank.
The app does not give you the same feel or experience as the site, so for looking at things a bit more complex as you're used to, open it via web browser on your phone/tablet.
That said, now I'm used to the app, I use it almost exclusively.
One thing the app does better than web page is picture uploads in my opinion.
Bravo for giving more than one way for enjoying the forum.
What you need to remember is different things for different people. I personally like that it's not a tyrannical garden only website. The help and advice to gardening though is second to none, again my opinion
Just ignore the general chitchat threads if they are not for you, simplesNever test the depth of the water with both feet
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....
Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
