    • Retailers.

You spend all that time and money in opening a shop, getting the stock, putting it out nicely, advertising, campaigns, hiring staff; but yet you still forget to tell the staff:

a - that people don't like queuing so if you see a closed till and queues - open the fluffing till and serve them and
b - how to use the fluffing till so that the customer leaves having spent money in your shop with their goods.

Don't faff about for 15 minutes unable to use said till and p off the customer so much that they insist on a refund and vow never to return.

Honestly, it makes all the up front hard work completely pointless.

          • Old men who insist on talking to (lecturing) me while I'm collecting autumn leaves. If you want to be friendly, just say hello nice weather and keep on walking, DO NOT stand there giving me unsolicited advice while I sift through the dog dirt & crisp packets.

I got three in a row today and I was only out for 10 mins. No I don't want horse muck, thanks. If you insist on asking me why not, I'll say because I don't need it. Don't then try and tell me I DO need it ~ I've grown veg for 16 years without it, ta

                  • I've just had an automated "fraud prevention" call from Barclaycard, ie a machine talking at me, not a human bean. I think it was genuine (yes, it was), but they pronounced* my name wrongly, and most of the shops I'd shopped in wrongly too. My instinct was just to hang up because I just couldn't make sense of most of what was being said, but if I had my card would have been stopped. Just before Xmas, yeah handy, thanks. I will be contacting their feedback line.

                    * as in 'Marz Hall' instead of Marshall, 'Spenn Kerr' instead of Spencer, 'unidentified seller' instead of CycleWiz, which presumably the machine simply had no hope of pronouncing

So far was his tongue in his cheek that the BBC had to issue an apology covering his comments on two different subjects in the single show ..................

During The One Show, Mr Clarkson also made a remark about people who threw themselves in front of trains.

Later One Show presenter Matt Baker made an apology during the show about those comments.

A BBC spokeswoman said that apology should also be taken to apply to his joke about shooting strikers
