Big congrats. What I meant to say earlier but forgot was "what you should have done was to get some points on your license. They give you a French license quick enough then, as I well know."

What makes me happy? Coming home after 4 long weeks away and having friends round first night, great food great wine great company. Sadly not so great hangover this morning!!

              • Having all my friends from the village's In Bloom group round last night for a bit of supper and a drinky-poo to celebrate all our successes of the year. We won't find out how the judges score us until mid September but we've given ourselves a thumbs-up!

                          • Getting home last night from a swift break to Budapest, and having tea in the garden. Just me and Mme P, 2 dogs, heaven only knows how many cats and the gooses let out of their pen to do a bit of the lawnmowing that awaits me.
Beautiful sunshine, peaceful and no F1 moguls disturbing the waitress' attention. Lovely.

                            • Putting on a pair of trousers, and finding a tenner in the pocket, when I had no dosh left in my wallet. Then, the following day, finding a twenty I had hidden in the car some time ago for emergencies, and had forgotten about.

This was after getting my hand covered in Pigeon poo off the gate by the Chook run - they say it is lucky - so I went out and bought a Lotto ticket. Well, you would, wouldn't you?
