Yesterday Shadow demonstrated one word he understands, a useful one, 'socks'. I mentioned that I wanted my welly-socks for dogwalking (OH was standing between me and the place they get left) and Shadow finds them, picks them up, and delivers them to my hand! Clever dog! (I did teach him to fetch 'socks', but we haven't done that for ages!)
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
Spending the week being relief chef at a local boarding school where the children are very troubled.
Having the Principle deliver a big tin of choccies to me today and telling me that the meals I'd provided had made a,"HUGE difference to the calmness of the kids." Think I may well be called back....
When the Devil gives you Cowpats - make Satanic Compost!
Being wedged in the school hall with loads of kids and mums and dads and listening and singing to xmas carols.....
The bit that makes me happy...... Teachers pointing at little Munch, after an hour of being wedged in, saying how lovely and well behaved she is, and how sweet it is that she is dancing and clapping!
Getting the third 5 star review for the kindle book I edited (and contributed to) from someone called Zazzy. Do we think we know who that is children? I do - and I beamed like a searchlight to see two different sides of my life collide in such a lovely way!

Reading a book and feeling that I could contribute in some way to telling people how fabby it is.
Decorating the (artificial) Christmas tree - it's seven feet tall, perfectly shaped, and stunningly beautiful this year (yes, I'm bragging). Tiny white lights, and only red, white, and silver baubles on it, plus icicles, and one or two treasured ornaments (including the fairy my Mum bought in the forties). It's the only decoration I do now, and it's always the last job on the list, so when it's done I know I'm all prepared for The Day!
