      • Something that made my day.

I've been after some thick gardening fleece (30gsm) for a few months on only could find the thinner one (17gsm) online and at the garden centres, one of the old chaps from the lottie phoned me up the other day asking if I'd help unload the lorry that bring all the lottie shops supply's again this year (three bags of compost for helping) I told him about me looking for fleece he said give me 10 mins and I'll phone you back, when he called back he said he got two 50mtr rolls of fleece off the net last year in a sale 11ft wide 50mts long 30 gsm thick, he got both roll for £30 inc p&p and said I can have a roll for £15 \o/ Bargain!!

        • It's 7:20am, minus two degrees, and still dark outside, but I've been listening to birds starting to twitter and sing for the last 15 minutes. Spring is definitely on the way. Yay!

            • Going out with daughter and baby grandaughter to Wisley and walking around the gardens pushing a cooing, gurgling baby who smiles all the time (well, mostly). Oh, and watching my daughter shriek and try to escape from a tiny butterfly that wanted to sit on her!

That reminds me, I still have spare clay and we need to make some seed bombs with your kids and go bombing!

Right - what makes me happy today...

a - being able to eat again and having a slap up chip supper for tea.
b - being able to drink again and having a cup of tea after said slap up chip supper.
c - getting tickets to Ryan Adams gig in Nottingham; getting the front row AND the middle seats. Only his wife is getting closer. Get in. [All stalls tickets sold out in 6 minutes; I'm chuffed to bits].
d - starting off your first wine of the year [rasps from freezer, bananas and a blueberry smoothie].
e - starting off your first chilli jelly of the year from the last dried chillis [will be soaked overnight, drained, whizzed, cooked and bottled tomorrow].

                    • Taking some risks, however small, when the chips are down, and one thing leading to another. Opportunities presenting themselves when you thought all was lost and you were on the heap.
And most of it coming from perfect strangers, or people you didnt know very well, and meeting some wonderful people as a consequence.

I know this all sounds mystic....but its amazing how small things can make you feel so happy....and one chain of events snowballs into some good little things.

I havent even been drinking, honest!

                      • Finally being given a chance to shine!
After a very disapointing start to the week with an out right overtime ban, being called in to the office with my manager and a 'top bod' from head office, being asked if i would like to take on the responsibilty for the parts department for three large makes of crane, managing the stock and dealing with the customers, not only being the only person to deal with them on the company, or essex, or east anglia but the whole of the uk and parts of southern ireland. No immediate pay rise but finally some recognition and a great oppurtunity to perform and get somewhere....
                        I have been drinking.

                            • I'm about to become a great aunt any day now
Wish I could be there with my sister as she enters Grannyhood but they are in the USA.

Luckily, i'm also about to be a granny myself and I can't wait, this birth is a wee bit closer to home in Ireland and I will be there for the birth. Just under 6 weeks to go

Me and my neighbour are long overdue a winter park trip...we take camping pad things to put on the bench and a flask of coffee, everyone thinks we're mad, but we know the mad ones
