Actually getting to the lottie today, and finding that the PSB are recovering from the flying rat attack a couple of weeks ago. Also the grandchildren weren't too miserable, and we brought home some leeks.
A phonecall from my Dad to let me know he's managed to get his hands on a couple of rolls of plastic for me as a temporary cover for my bottle greenhouse.

Digging over one of my veggie beds and spotting a small fragment of Couch Grass root. Pulling said "fragment" and finding it is actually nearly two feet long, runs nearly half the width of the bed and I've got the whole thing out - including the growing tip! Mmmmwwaaahhaahhaa!!!!!

Got one of today's dreaded meetings out of the way. It wasn't scary and it wasn't a waste of time. Time for a pear and a cup of hot chocolate then the Diabetic clinic at 5pm.

Hearing the chickens cluck away now they are back in lay - and knowing that the noise is because they are making me a yummy egg so I can have egg mayo sarnie for my lunch!
Getting a really good veg growing book for just a pound...it was labelled at 4.99 but the chap in the Charity shop thought it was etortionate and to encourage a young mum to grow veg, I could have it for a pound....Guilt made me pop another pound in the charity box.
