Putting a big fistful of Beau's soft undercoat into the branches of a bush and watching the birds collect it for lining their nests. Don't know what pleases me more, seeing a Blue Tit with a big "Father Christmas" beard, or the thought that Beau is keeping all the chicklets warm...When the Devil gives you Cowpats - make Satanic Compost!

Being able to spend the whole week in the garden wearing a tee-shirt.

Taking my grandchildren up to the lottie with Granddad and having them help dig a bed over (lots of exclaiming at the size of the worms and triumphant pouncing on weed roots)
Helping to sow a row of peas. ( I don't think there is a much more beautiful sight than that of chubby, two year old fingers pushing pea seeds into the soil)
Watching them trying to water stuff with the full-size watering can.
Planting a row of Shallot seedlings - they dibbed the holes - I put them in.
Then going home and sitting at the table discussing what we've done as the Spaghetti goes down a treat!

Lying on a hospital bed having an ultrasound scan and the guy confirming my GP's diagnosis. "Its a swelling caused by fluid and nothing to worry about."
