We (I!) have a rule - no outdoor footwear beyond the kitchen door! Imagine my face, when I came home this evening, to find dirty foot-prints on the kitchen floor (that I cleaned earlier this week) and followed the trail of foot-prints into the hall, where they became fading wet splodges, and through to the spare room, where Mr.G had recently been to collect something he needed, before rushing out again. He had obviously noticed the dirty foot-prints that he'd left, and had done his best to clean them up before I got home, hence why they are now soggy splodges.
The reason this makes me happy - he was in a hurry - and it took him longer to mop up and clean the foot-prints off the carpet, than it would have to take his chuffing boots off in the first place!
Lesson learned?

First group of Sugar-pod peas (germinated indoors) thriving in the garden, loads more waiting to go out when they are a few inches taller.
First germination of runner-beans (planted 2 days ago)
Beginning to be able to see the garden for the shrubs (we now have a garden-waste collection, and the bin has been full of prunings each fortnight so far).Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Watching a DVD of home movies where my best friend and I were filmed on a family holiday. We were walking along a Cornish beach, a dog each in tow, yacking our heads off. It was FIFTEEN YEARS AGO.
Yesterday, she and I walked along a Cornish beach (as we do most Saturdays), a dog each in tow, yacking our heads off.

Having a chat with a 'special' bloke and his chum who I have seen from my window recently but only today encountered in person. We agreed that funky hats are brilliant and did lots of thumbs ups. He probably went home and said, 'you know that funny old dear from number 6...'. Seriously though, it's easy to pass by on the other side of the road, or be busy, or not know what to say but for both special folk and their carers, making eye contact and saying hello is a big deal. It's a great warm fuzzy for you too, everybody winsI was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Having a lovely long weekend with OH, and a relaxed day celebrating his birthday. Very happy with my birthday cake efforts: one cinnamon and pecan loaf cake and 12 banana muffins.
Then had a lovely indoor picnic with loads of yummy and quite healthy food and just chilled on the rug in the living room with some nice music on, and we both said how nice it was to not have to worry about wasps, flies, random frisbies, noisy crowds, wet/lumpy grass, cold winds or rain....oh yes it was the best picnic I've had in a long time!
