              • Living through the past week - Scarecrow Festival, summer judging for Yorkshire in Bloom, 2 days preparation for a village wedding then the annual Village Show at which our In Bloom group had a stall for 5 hours in the pouring rain! Village life isn't all quiet, sedate back-waters you know!

                  • Being indoors when it's thundering, lightning-ing (can you say that? - just did!) and I can see the water running like a tap off my chicken run roof into the water butt.

Sadly Mr Flum is out in it for the day. He'll not be a happy Flummy!

                          • Making my first Lavender Scones yesterday and watching Mr Flum eat them enthusiastically. He normally thinks scones are 'girly' but has been enjoying things I've made with lavender recently.

                            • Heading nervously into the boss' office, he who signs my timesheets. Yesterday we had a proper blokes finger in chest stand up argument, and whilst we werent actually pulled apart, a couple of people did conveniently move in between us.
In I walk timesheet in hand, and he smiles and said "yesterday was yesterday Bob, I still think I was right, I'm sure you think you were right, but thats the end of it."
Signed timesheet in hand, I left office.
Woooohhoooooo thats the carpet for the lovenest paid for then.

                              • My sense of humour is generally self deprecatory, its rare that I blow my own trumpet but I'm so chuffed I just have to.

I've just spoken to a French visitor in the office about some work related stuff, we did the work rubbish and then we discussed French type stuff. After about 5 minutes he asked me where my accent was from, and he hazarded a guess at North West France. When I told him it came from England, the look on his face was to be seen to be believed.
"Putain, meme pas un accent" were his exact words, which means sort of flippin 'eck, not even an accent.

I am well proud of myself I can tell you!!
