  • Being told I was very knowledgable and sensitive about someone else's detailed religious beliefs, and being told that it was nice to have someone that knowledgable around

We have a new colleague who is a muslim, and I remembered that they are on Ramadan at the moment. I have had an interesting discussion with her about it, and have made sure that people don't eat too much in front of her (the amusing thing is that people aren't supposed to eat at their desks anyway, so it actually works quite well in making them do that!). She was really surprised that I knew so much about it, and we had discussion about the Hajj (pilgrimage) and I was quite clued up on that as well....

I would like to thank Miss Ramsey for my RE lessons in high school.... didn't realise I'd retained so much info!

    • Waking up at 4 in the morning does NOT make me happy, driving for over 2 hours at that time also does NOT make me happy.
Seeing my granddaughters smiling faces at the port though made up for it all in spades, that made me really really happy.

                • Knowing that everything is just where it is meant to be.
reading this 'though of the day' to-day and thinking how appropriate it was :

Happiness is not a destination, it's a journey.
Happiness is not tomorrow, it is now.
Happiness is not a dependency, it is a decision.
Happiness is what you are, not what you have.

                        • The caretaker at the allotments saw my horrid bent up prongs facing all the wrong direction fork the other week. When I got there today he mentioned my fork and told me he had something to show me... the something was a beautiful stainless steel bladed fork, spade a hoe AND a rake. He asked me if I would like them as they belonged to someone who vacated a plot but never came back for the tools (they had written a number of times)! WOULD I! WOOOOHOOOOO

What a red letter day! How kind that he thought of ME They are all the right size too

I dont know who invented grandkids, but whoever it was should be posthumously knighted or something, they are brilliant.
