  • The Best Things In Life Are Free :-)

As the title say's "The best things in life are free", so what do you love to do?

Those of you on Face Book with recognise this thread...well, we had to do something while the vine was down .

I love pulling the dead flowers of the broad beans...I find it very therapeutic. Also take great pleasure in squishing green fly .

I like having picnics on my plot. A welcome sign when I see my wife coming over with lunch and little one in tow, gawking in awe at everything around her

      So many options!
      Garden related -
      Turning my compost (Yes, really!)
      Weeding (Honest!)
Pulling the first carrot of the year.

      Generally -
Getting a good set on my Jam
Lying in bed listening to the rain on the window

Far too many others to list.

Watching my dog throw her stick or ball up in the air and catch it, as a sign she wants to play, gladdens my heart like nothing else can !

Apart from everything in the garden? Children. All of them. Those belonging to me and those belonging to everyone else. Best thing since sliced bread. Love watching them, listening to them and playing with them.

Ooh and popping bubblewrap and watching the rain and and ....

The smell of fresh bread, the taste of home-made jam - it was a complete tea when I were a lass!

Picking elder flowers in the sun then making cordial with them while it rains outside.

Am going to have to ask, whey do you pull of the dead heads, they fall off of their own accord? My current fave is picking lbs and lbs of lovely sweet strawberries, will be jamming when I've had chance to buy some sugar

It's just something I've always done. My Dad asked me to pick them off when I was a very little girl when I asked what I could do to help him in the allotment. I do it with the dead tomato flowers as well.
