  • Avatars?

Is there something wrong with my computer, or have everybody's avatars vanished?

I'm seeing a link instead of a picture, and when I tried to add a picture to my profile I got an 'unable to save' message.

The English bluebell, Hyacinthoides non-scripta, used to be called Endymion non-scripta. (But only those with long memories will know!)

And do you know the other quotation? A bachelor thinks he is a thing of beauty and a boy forever. (Dunno who said that - probably Anon, he was prolific like that).

My Dad always called bluebells Endymion, and I always thought it was a lovely word.

I've been trying to add a picture, but I must be doing something wrong. It's the right size, but it won't upload.

I can see other people's avatars now though, so maybe I'll soon be able to have my own.

You could always go for a Bearded Iris, if you like flowers, but it might perhaps be misinterpreted, a bit.

I can't get an avatar to load either - no matter what size I make it!

So don't worry, you're not the only one.

I've just tried again, and even managed to remember to click the "Use custom avatar" button, but it still won't work.

The picture I've tried today has been resized to 86x100px; 72dpi; 23.4kb. Could it be that any of those values are stopping the upload?
