        I think we had a post asking for ID on same sort of plant a few months back. Think it's a weigela, give it a google.

              Pretty sure its Escallonia. Flowers are too small for Wiegela and they are over by now and the Abelia hasn't flowered yet. Is it evergreen 'cos Escallonia is.

                Escallonia, used to have one just like it. And yes, it was usually alive with all sorts of insects.
                Anyone who says nothing is impossible has never tried slamming a revolving door

                    It looks like escallonia, specially the leaves. It's a much nicer colour than mine which is a really bright dark pink
