From childhood with my parents to a couple of years ago we had a holiday once a year in Mablethorpe and very little changed over the years! Beach and promenade are lovely, but the town centre leaves a lot to be desired. My daughter had a caravan in Sutton-on-Sea which is near enough to Mablethorpe, but far enough away IYKWIM and is a delightful little place. There are some lovely places to visit in the county and it's also very flat, which is a bonus, particularly if you take your bike.

If you want clean loos you wont go wrong to stay at a Caravan and camping club site.

Hi Wayne, a good site is coolcamping. You can decide an area and indicate size, type ie family, luxurious, basic, campfires etc. It also usually has a range of photos and reviews. Its by the peeps that did wild swimming. Have a look. Enjoy! Hope you get weather we didnt have at Grapestock last year!!

Well, spent our first camping trip (after Grapestock 2010) at Gulliver's Land Campsite this weekend (Fri-Sun), and thoroughly enjoyed it. Learned a few things - don't pitch under a tree for example, but overall had a great time.

The fact that the site is located bang next door to the theme park is an added bonus, as Bean had a great time on loads of rides, and our God-daughter (9 yrs old) could go on almost all the rides too.

The site was very clean, very friendly, and in our limited experience, well maintained.

A two thumbs up site as far as the Family Wayne are concerned. We'll be going back.

Glad you all enjoyed it HW. Thanks for the recommendation, my daughter is thinking of taking the family camping as a cheap holiday. She hasn't even got a tent yet!

Our fellow campies were the same - they picked up their tent and paraphernalia on the Thursday before we went (the next day).

I can recommend GoOutdoors - but you also have Towsure in Sheffield (Malin Bridge) which seemed pretty decent last time we looked.
