Hi guys,
Sorry but wasn't sure where to put this so have popped it in here and if it's in the wrong place please accept my apologies.
I've been given some willow 'branches' which have been kept in a bucket of water for the last 6 months or so and have new growth and roots on them. These are to plug a gap in our hedge which appeared after the snow (as well as eventually supplying me with canes if they survive). The lady who gave them to me told me to keep them in water until ready to use (in the next week/10 days is the plan), as the roots will keep growing and they'll be nice and content.
My OH (who, rather like Peppa Pigs' daddy, is an expert in everything apparently) is nagging me to take them out of water and temporarily plant them in compost because the roots will rot!!!!! Arrrghhh.
So I'm just looking for some reassurance that the lady knows what she's doing (I'm pretty sure she does) and that I should keep them where they are
Help I really do need to stop listening to my OH - he just confuses me (easy enough at the best of times)!!!!
Many thanks
