  • Is it safe for my kitty cat?

Hi all, just got given a little olive tree and on the card it says will not tolerate frost so best to keep indoors in a well lit space. So is it safe for my beautiful little girly? h and its Olea europaea.

Never worried about the cats eating my olive tree but I do keep it outside all summer and then just move it into the unheated greenhouse in the winter. It does well like this.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I would think you'd have to keep the tree safe from the cat Jax!

I have a small olive tree I bring inside in the winter. Jinny doesn't bother with it...other than the occasional spray when it's outside that is . I would think your kitties would be OK with it Jax.

Hi Jax - I am sure the olive tree will be ok with the little lass - be very very careful with Lilies though,

Thanks guys, shes not too bad with chewing this stuff but occasionally when she goes scatty she bites a leaf or 2 as "it was attacking her"! I have a list of toxic plants and non toxic plants that Jeanied gave me but it wasnt on there. Im not too worried about getting fruit as I'm not overly keen on olives but I can always use a paintbrush.

I've an indoor olive tree and 4 cats. Never had a problem with them. They are however a menace when it comes to chillies as they love to chew the leaves.
