I'm currently debating lime green mankini or devil outifit for my trip to the Galibier this year. Mme P is erring for jeans and a jumper however due to the high probability of cold weather. Not looking forward to riding it the day before, but really looking forward to watching my first ever stage live.

      You're riding the Galibier?

      Down it, I presume?

Just got back from the airport in time to see Cav thrash the sprint again. Awesome. Gutted re Wiggins, really thought he had a chance.

Me too. I believed he could actually win it, not just place.

And of course, other sad news this year, is the passing of Laurent Fignon. Very, very sad...he was my first favourite rider...think it was that long blond hair.

I thought that too, his face was completely drained of blood when I saw the highlights. Gutted for him and the team, he was doing so well too

Bless him, and not even a week in, and we've lost Tom Bonen too. What a weird Tour. Oooh, I've just spotted Stuey up the front of the Peloton (No16), at least he's still in one piece **PB touches wood quickly**

Last year. This year was Wouter Weylandt in the Giro.

Ooops, looks like Bob and I are both at it. It's still a shock though, coz I only heard about it this week.

I was shocked when I heard too. He was still around when I started watching, but I missed his peak years (mind you, they came early - youngest winner of Le Tour since Georges Speicher in 1933).

Woo hoo! Cycling thread!!! I'm a cycling fanatic, it's a real obsession

I watched the stage live today (in work ). Was nearly in tears when I saw the state wiggo was in after the crash - absolutely gutted for him.

Great ride by the HTC team though - I can't imagine cav getting that level of support if he goes to sky next year (just rumoured at the moment I think).

Anyone manage to get any cycling tickets for the olympics? I applied and got a big fat zero

Applied for £3000 worth. Got none.
