  • Stress Relief

    Hi Friendly grapes

As some of you know I am feeling a little stressed at the moment to say the least.

Cant stop shaking, feel sick, exhausted and now the tension in me is causing pain and numbness!

Any suggestions on what I can take/do to relax.

I know alcohol is my first reach at the moment but alcoholism is not going to help long term

    Thanks
    Little ol' me

    Has just bagged a Lottie!
Oh and the chickens are taking over my garden!

Go and see your GP and explain the whole situation (though I am sure they are aware, they may not be aware of how badly it is affecting you).

So sorry you're so stressed out Munch.

Treat yourself to this book and CD. Even if you don't believe in it, I think you will find it really helps.

Keep a diary Munch of how you're feeling day to day and take it with you to your GP. Have you thought about going for some counselling? My friends all say that yoga helps ease stress, a class or a DVD maybe?

            Easy, do-it-yourself stressbusters:

Exercise of any kind - whatever is your preferred sort - it will stimulate endorphins, which make you feel better.

Make sure you try and get to bed at a decent time - make sure you don't have any stimulants at least an hour before bed - that includes: tv (esp. news), tea, coffee, alcohol, sugary stuff.

Put a couple of drops of lavender essential oil on a tissue and stick it near your pillow - it helps to relax you... or have a quiet, relaxing bath with lavender oil.

However - go and see your GP pronto!!

Talk to somebody. Don't bottle it up it is the worst thing you can do. Your GP can arrange for you to see a counsellor. I didn't want to see someone as I thought it was a sign of weakness but it isn't. It was the best thing you could do as long as you open up. Drinking doesn't help, it makes it so much worse. Good luck, you can get through this. I know

Ditto to all the above. Above all, be kind to yourself. Get some help and support.

I'm told Calms tablets can help...most large supermarkets stock them now. But, as others have said - please see your GP

Big hug coming your way, hope things become less stressful for you very soon.

T'ai Chi and lavender oil - that's all that stops me decking certain people on occasions!
Seriously, explain this to a GP in you practice that you get on well with.

I don't know what you're anxious about, but I always find list-making helps if I have a lot on my mind. Also keep a pad and pen by the bed for those waking-in-the-night panic attacks. Whatever's churning round your brain, write it down ~ it really does help

                            Thanks everyone.

I am trying to avoid going to the docs as they are all too hasty about chucking anti depressants down your throat....

I weaned myself off them 6 years ago and dont want them anymore.

I have found a temporary solution today.......

Chuck the stressful issue out of the front door!! (caught him stealing money off me again)!!
