  • Centenary Day

    Some ofyou may be aware (mainly cos I keep banging on about it) that this is the centenary year for our allotment site. We are having an open day on Sat Aug 20th . from 11:00 to 4:00...the garden will be officially opened at 11:30 by Mr Horace Painter , who may not be known in the gardening community but has certainly done a lot to put Coventry on the map in other areas. There will be :-
    Ploughmans lunches with ginger beer (homemade)
    Afternoon cream teas
    BBQ
    Sale of preserves
    Sale of cakes and guess the weight of the bread pudding comp
    Sale of produce and plants
    Chicken corner
    woodturner
    Bowman (longbows)
    Honey
    Raffle
    Games ie tin can alley
    Falcons
    Grand raffle with excellent prizes
    and there may be more ......

    This is all taking place at the London Road Allotments , Humber road, Coventry .
    Hopefully the weather will be kind and some of you will come along for a nosey

                      The local paper has been today to take piccies and take details. Hopefully for a big spread so will put up a link when it happens.
