Dog stung on lip

Anyone got any tips other than a baking soda paste? Poor Chester, my daughter's dog (Springer Spaniel) has been stung, they're not sure whether it was a bee or a wasp.

Antihistamine tablet.... just a normal one

it may make him a bit drowsy, but will take the swelling down. We gave one each to both our Boxers when we had a wasp attack a few years ago

That's what I gave my cat last week ( well- half of one)....worked a treat!

Thanks OWG and Nicos. They were out of town on a long walk when it happened and although his face swelled up he didn't seem to be in any pain. By the time they got to me it had gone down almost completely and he was bouncing about like Tigger. We wondered if perhaps he had been stung by nettles rather than a wasp. Seems to be ok now - well, he wolfed some sausages down at my house!

Ahhh poor puppy dog,best thing is always loads of hugs & stroking & patting & sympathetic words,then more general fussing

Maybe be a bramble, springers are notorious for tearing through thick cover without a care in the world or seeming to notice any minor injury. Thats what makes them superb gun dogs, when hunting or retrieving nothing seems to stop them.

Poor wee Chester, if it was a bee or wasp, hopefully he'll be staying away from them from now on, one of our Border Collie's chases the bee's round the garden, she's never caught one, YET thankfully, but I'll remember the tip should she ever catch one

He's fine now TM thank you. One of our German Shepherds Boris used to eat bees and wasps and was never stung! Don't know how he managed it.
