car in for it's MOT today and just heard all it needs are two indicator bulbs. In case anyone thinks I should have checked the easy things like bulbs, I did but apparently they are showing white and need to be replaced with ornage bulbs. Need to find something else to stress over now

Lucky lad! Mine cost a small fortune a couple of months ago, and has just had to go back in for a mystery banging noise which turned out to be the drive-shaft bearing. No idea how much that is going to cost, but knowing my luck it'll be one of those things that they have to dismantle half the car to get to it...

For getting me and my gear to work I bought an old Volvo 940 Estate for £600 about two months ago - 152k on the clock - and it has just had it's MOT - failed on nearside indicators (developed a fault two days before MOT) a hole in the exhaust, parking brake needs retensioned and rear number plate light not working. All in all I'm a happy chappy.Rat
