So, I've opted for the longer commute. It's a better paid job, in an industry I like and I've managed to negotiate hours that mean I should hopefully not miss out too much on home time - added to the fact that I am also able to work from home "on occasion" - which I will figure out how often is sensible as time trundles on.

Didn't sleep well at all last night at the prospect of having to phone the guy that up until yesterday could expect me to start working with him in a couple of weeks.

    Still, once it's done - it's done.

Right! Offer letter received, so it's all official.

Now need to go and make that call to the guy that isn't having me as an employee.

        Deep breaths....

                    • I'm confused now, did you go for the orginal job with the nice boss or the second job with the old firm?
                      either way, well done

Second job, longer commute, more money, ex-colleagues, familiar industry, better job (on paper). I'm confident this boss is also nice - he's a good friend of my old boss, and that's a good recommendation for me.

                              • Glad it's all sorted Wayne Opportunities are never lost, someone will take the one you miss, so well done. (Not sure whether that's a pearl of wisdom or not, it's the little ditty on today's calendar along with the fact that today in 55BC Julius Caesar invaded Britain, which is very useful to know).
