I bought some yesterday without any problems so not sure that this ban is widespread. The only thing I have problems buying round here is meths (for a little stove I use when camping), they always give you a very funny look and that's in proper camping shops who also sell the stoves. Had to sign for it once in Scotland to say I wouldn't drink the stuff - as if that would stop anybody determined
