So after several weeks of buying and fitting new parts to my lovely 109 Series III Landy 'Annie', OH has told me that he plans to have her finished and what HE considers roadworthy (she did come with a 1 year MOT but brakes and leaf springs were in need of upgrading/replacement), by my birthday (I did wonder which one but he assures me he means my next one 
). So that gives him a few more weeks to sort her out.
So far we've fitted new: rear prop shaft; rear parabolic springs; rear shocks; wheels and tyres (255/85/16 I think - they're huge and together with the new springs I'm going to need a step ladder to get in her AND that's despite me being nearly 6ft
); rear brake drums and shoes; hubs on the back and free wheeling hubs to the front axles; anti-burst locks on both doors; and retractable seatbelts.
Today I've taken delivery of a new fuel tank (OH discovered a tiny leak on the old one) and we still have to fit: front parabolics; front shocks; front brake drums and shoes; and an exhaust, including a new manifold.
There are a myriad of little jobs which also need to be done but we now have all the parts we need (except the exhaust but that's on its' way) so it's just a matter of OH finding the time. She will still need a respray but that isn't urgent and can wait until we get some decent hot weather.
I can't wait!!! I'm so excited!!!
OH reckons he'll have to take me to Kirton Lindsay Off Road centre to teach me how to drive her properly, especially using the 4 wheel drive but I'm thinking this is an excuse

P.S. By "we" I do mean we, as I have helped fit the incredibly heavy rear spings and shocks, not to mention the unbelievably heavy wheels and tyres, not forgetting the brake drums etc and I'm dreading the fitting of the front springs - my poor, poor back!
