Its hubby's birthday this week, so Ive got a few friends coming round tonight for a meal n a bit of a gathering, so after a quick run to the plot (to water and harvest toms n courgettes n peppers) we popped into the store where Lee works to pick up a few bits n bobs ready to prepare tonights feast. Just after we got on the down escalator the Personnel Manager caught my eye, waved and beconned me over.
As I ran back up the down escalator he (according to Lee who was stuck with the trolley on the down escalator) ran over to greet me, with the Customer Service Manager in tow (who he introduced me to and told her I was the girl they had interviewed last week). He seeed very pleased to see me, laughing and joking (how come you are off on a weekend when working in retail? I explained we are rotad 1 in 4 off, and as Ive worked 63 unpaid extra hours in the last 4 weeks and not had a weekend off in 12 weeks that I was taking this one).
I told him that Id been invited to the Assessment Center, but not to let that influence his decision, but if their decision was negative, then I would have another chance with the assessment center. I also clarified that I would be prepared to work nights, to which he replied, 'What we were thinking was perhaps 12 months on nights to let you learn the business, then possibly a move forwards.' I replied, that it would make sense, as its not as customer busy at night, so would make learning easier before moving further onwards.
He said I would hear sooner rather than later, and was very friendly and seemed happy to see me, the banter, friendliness and proffessional respect seemed to be there between the 2 of us, something that I think if they had decided not to offer me a chance perhaps wouldnt have been so evident, nor would he have made a point of coming over to talk.
What do you guys n gals think? Am I reading too much into things, or does it seem fairly positive so far?
Sorry to be posting about nothing but this, but I am soo conscientious at work, its something I care about so deeply that with things up in the air atm Im somewhat preoccupied!
