I did enjoy it but there were occasions when I was chuntering at the TV - for example those upper middle class women in their floaty dresses and flowers in their hair - camping? Yeah right. I'm going camping this weekend and I won't be taking no floaty dresses.
It was fun to watch, but I found it a little frustrating that some of the stuff he did just doesn't sit right in the real world. Like finding a field, digging a big hole and putting a fire in it. How many of us have access to a field where you can (legally) do that? Most camp sites don't let you have fires and if they do it's usually (with a few exceptions) in a fire pit/BBQ. I was expecting to hear about loads of complaints about Jamie encouraging people to light open fires in the country side. I mean he didn't even surround it with stones tut tut.
I do love how crazy, giddy, passionate he gets when he's made something 'delish', though. It's quite endearing and that pancake cake looked awesome.
Watched a few minutes of it and then it started getting me annoyed so turned off quickly before I started screaming - think we've discussed it before, he's a bit of a marmite person. You either find him great or really annoying and I find I want to throttle him very quickly even though some of the stuff he's cooking is nice I can't put up with him.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
I knew you were going to say that Alison, but it'd be a bit of a bore if we all liked the same people chuck! I really like his enthusiasm, bit of a Carol Klein in the cookery world.
How very dare you lot suggest that children should be cooked? Behave yourselves!

I love kids got lots of nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, lots of cousins and I'm godfather to 2 kids.
Just couldn't eat a whole one thats all
I can't bear him - he annoyed me the way he jumped on the "grow your own" bandwagon and launched a range of soils and tools. I mean he's got a gardener for one thing and you don't see him using overpriced small bags of compost do you.
I like them both but I don't think I could put up with either of them for more than a couple of hours Hugh's a bit of a dork and Jamie is like a hyperactive puppy who would soon make you weary and longing for a lie down. You get the impression that Hugh's mates see him as a bit of a village idiot and boozemonster who throws great parties and they look at him with a kind of fond amusement. With Jamie I reckon they just turn up and eat his grub, at least that's what always seems to happen on his shows
