  • New defender in 2015

Now, I'd love a defender (perhaps when/if we ever move to a place with some land I'd buy an old one), but just read about this... BBC News - Land Rover confirms new version of its Defender model

Amazing bit of machinery, I've wasted hours in *cough* work *cough* looking at videos of defenders navigate difficult terrain!

I've had the pleasure of a day out over rough terrain in a defender, it was Neath way from memory Chris. It was a work perk and totally free.

Really enjoyed doing the near vertical drops, seesaws, and blindfolded instruction course. All good fun.

Can't see the point of releasing images of something that won't happen for three years, 12 months fair enough but 3 years. It'll be out of date by then.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Yup, I think that's the prototype of another model, but based on it - does look mean though. Can't really see something like that rolling through Afghanistan though!

Looks like another "school run 4x4" to me,the greatest assets of land rover were it's mechanical simplicity & the backwards compatibility of parts.

I looked at the title of the thread Chris and thought you'd be on about football. Paranoid I am.

thats only at concept stage at the moment
like the LRX concept lead to the new Evouqe styling
the new Def will look similar but will lose it's rugged farmer appeal i fear as all plastic and pedestrian safety will ruin it

Doubt I'll see one of those here: Devils Pit - 4x4 EXPERIENCE.

Oft see Landies and old Rangers caked in mud parked up on trailers at the side of the road after a day in there. It's about 5 mins from our house, and a friend of mine with a V8 Ranger has promised to take me there and let me have a go when he gets it up and running.

Whereas we need a new defender, possibly 2 and a central midfield general.

Sadly that resembles what we currently have, unbalanced and in the s**t.

Me neither, although I did rather enjoy the Wednesday manager's rather tactful explanation of where the Johnstone's Paint Trophy is on his list of priorities! (I only pretend not to listen at all).
