My grandchildren all go back to school next week (different schools of course). Seven of them aged between 4 and 14, go back on Monday 5th. One of them, aged 9, doesn't start back until next Friday
I'll miss mine too BUT they are certainly ready to go back and I wont miss the squabbling, fighting and constant 'I'm bored' though .
Littlest Reetlet is looking forward to starting school and keeps asking how many sleeps and Middle Reetlet is desperate to be back with her friends.
I'll definitely be one of those shimmying around the kitchen, collapsing in a heap on the sofa with coffee, biccies (I don't have to share ) and oodles of mind bogglingly boring daytime telly - or maybe in the garden enjoying the peace and quiet with my veg (coffee and biccies in hand).
My Golden Girl said "Nanny, if you'd had six whole weeks off work, would you want to go back on a Friday?" Can't fault that really.
Really can't see the point of starting back to school on a Friday - reckon your clever little grand-daughter summed it up nicely Florence.
Typical - Daddy got it wrong. She actually starts back on Tuesday! Older GGs can't wait to get back, they're really bored and all the after school activities start again too.
