nut identification

hi guys, found these nuts on the floor in the forest near mine today - they look like walnuts to me but i couldnt see a outer shell anywhere - any ideas? they were in like 2 halfs that split easily when i messed with it. i can go and get more pics if need be:



also the second pic looked interesting but is probably sommet boring lol



any help would be appreciated, also i found a load of beech nut trees on the edge of the forest with hundreds of them within reach - ive read up on using them but does anyone have any experience of eating the nuts?

I have eaten beech nuts before but be careful as they contain a toxin which means you shouldn't eat too many!

I think the first pic is acorns that have some sort of gall/parasite and the second prehaps lime tree seeds... but the photos are a bit small (and I STILL can't do photos myself so I can't help you!)

ok ive attatched them, this is a lot of messing for a random nut and a random tree lol :-)

ive messed about and its my original picture i think thats too small etc, if i get time, ill pop back up to the woods and take a higher quality picture :-)
