Went to nearby forest to record Adders last week, counted 97 and some Grass Snakes too.

I thought they would still be in hibernation! They do hibernate don't they!
I was reading an article recently saying the adder was in decline!
Facinating animal, but must confess to being blessed with a bit of a phobia for them. I spent a lot of time living in a moorland setting and learned a healthy respect for them! Shiver!!! Shiver!!!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Male adders come out of hibernation "March the fourth Adders come forth" in spring followed some six weeks later by the females, the young are born live but in Grass Snakes they hatch from Eggs.
