          Thanks for that, had a look might need new screen.

          Ran mcAfee and malwarebytes in safe mode nothing found.
          Bright spot still there but not going white now.

            Sounds like the screen to me.

            You could try putting pressure around the screen edges to see if it goes, if so it may be coming apart (which can be fixed)... try putting pressure on or around the spot too (don't go mad and break it though!) Is it a reflective screen, or a matt one?

              Tried pressure as suggested no difference.
              I think its reflective not sure how you tell

                Pushing it will break the led crystals - not a good idea IMO.

                    Laptop still getting white screen occasionally.
                    There is an issue with overheating with certain models of this laptop but checked online and not this one.
                    Also wont boot into safe mode, also tried in msconfig but it loads drivers then hangs and reboots and goes round in circles.
