  • Tomato blight, and other sad stuff

Today hasn't been the best for me. I went to the lottie, last time i was there was Thursday. Today I realised my tomatoes have blight, picked off the fruit, and bagged the bines for composting. Got home, the washing machine is very unhappy, I think the pump has gone. Rinsed the washing by hand, wrung it out and put outside to drip dry. Then the dishwasher door catch won't close, so had to wash all the stuff inside by hand.
To cap it all, I realised I had no one to visit today. I've got so used to going to the care home Sunday afternoons, and then it came crashing in, for almost the first time, despite the arrangements I've had to be making this past week. There was no one there to tell about the lottie bbq last week, the tale of my woes, told in a funny way so she'd smile, not get worried. Last Monday, with no warning, she'd been stable for months, my Mum passed away, and it's only really today it began to sink in. Not having anyone to visit, and knowing today, if I had, I'd have begrudged the time
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Big hugs, I know how you feel, I used to visit my Mum thinking about what I could be doing with the time I spent with her. I still miss her now after 6 years, and wish I could spend time with her. Today is the fourth Anniversary of loosing my Sister as well. How I miss them both.
Lots of love to you all at this sad time xx
