  • I just wish for settled warm weather

Oh lets have some settled warm weather. my allotment is at a standstill.

I would like to pull some rhubarb too but that too is sulking from the cold.
we have suffered on the east coast from cold eastelies and northerlies for a while and it is just soo boring now.

What a shame Benacre. Don't want to crow but it's been like high summer here for days - wall to wall sunshine. I hope there's some on the way to you.

You'll be too warm and dry soon enough! I've been told that the art of happiniess is wanting what you've got.

I agree Benacre...my fingers are frozen as I type this in a house that never gets (warmed by) the sun. The sun is just peeping out now so I might wrap up and sit in the garden. Too windy on the allotment for me, I don't enjoy freezing me nuts off (as it were)

Hooray the parsnips are up so I can celebrate a little bit. took a month to garminate. Corn flowers are also starting to look healthy after a good sprinkling of NPK. I have also foilar fed my Rhubarb too.
So! if there is a settled period over easter everything may have a chance after all.
2nd earlies to go in on Friday as Earlies are already in!

Don't worry, be happy! It's Easter and summer is on it's way. Plants and seeds are amazingly resilient and will come through the worst of the weather. Next thing you know, we'll be moaning about hot dry weather and having to water everything.

At last we get the sun! 16 degrees today, lovely. Ladybirds were mating all over the place, no shame.
Didn't get any work done, wandered round chatting and taking pix.

It's been lovely today (and yesterday). Cut the lawn for the first time this year (guinea pigs have done a good job so far but it was looking very uneven, with some very short bits and a lot of longer tufty bits too). Put up some trellis and some clematis netting, sliced the back of my finger on something, sowed lots of seeds and now ache like a goodun. Never mind, a glass or two of red wine should take the pain away.
