          Thanks everyone, I knew I could count on you! Recieved a phone call from OH earlier to say he was back on the ward, a bit groggy but okay. Spoke to the nurse who was in surgery with him and she said early signs are encouraging. He will have a second op in a weeks time to have a pace maker type device put in his chest tho that will be under general anaesthetic so not quite so traumatic for him. Phew, so relieved

                  Ok, that's wonderful news! But how are YOU now? Might seem daft, but it was every bit as stressful for you as for your OH. How you doing? Mightily relieved and breathing normally, I'll bet!

                            Two ops in a week - yowch. I had four in as many years and pulled out of a fifth as I thought that was bad. But two in a week - he's a stoic chap. I'm sure he'll be fine - I think the NHS are pretty good on the whole.
