I like him too, but with rather a large pinch of salt. Good entertainment value.

Thanks Headfry. I shall tell Grumpy about your name - he hates him! (I have to watch secretly)

Can I vouch for the Buddah Bowls; I had one at the Wilderness Festival and it was smashing. Picking seeds out me teeth for a few hours but what the heck!

I found this first episode extremely preachy and constantly pushing an agenda. The enjoyment of the earlier series has gone and this is no longer about good food and good ingredients. This is about "YOU ARE BAD IF YOU EAT MEAT". RC has lost at least one viewer this series!

Hugh's well into animal welfare though ~ I suppose it can come across as preaching if you're not sympathetic that way

yeah, but this was before he even started it....maybe just thinking about becoming vegetarian makes you healthy....
I'm gonna give it a try

Didn't come across like that to me. It came across like he was secretly doing a little bit of regretting it slightly...and then it came across as if he was treating it like a competition..i.e. who can make the best vegetarian food.

                              Eh?

                              I missed that bit.

The chefs at the cafe annoyed me, you don't go to River Cottage for veggie food so why on earth they were having a competition in a known meaty cafe to see how many chose the veg feed was ridiculous.

But apart from that, loads of good food with good ingredients. I don't usally watch it as most programmes are rammed with meat and fish and it's refreshing to see vegetables being the main item and not sidelined.

I didn't like it. There wasn't enough GYO-ing in it for me. I abandoned x -factor and two siblings squealing at Gary Barlow, thinking that there would be lots of GYO-ing it. Did nothing for me, I'm afraid. Yes, I know I could just watch Gardeners world, but I can't bring myself to watch it; my brain has usually stalled by then.
