I agree, he certainly looks younger and healthier, but I put it down to his haircut. I've only watched the first part so far, rest is viewing for tonight at ten. I think it looks good, but then I'm a fan anyway.

Did nothing for me, I'm afraid. Yes, I know I could just watch Gardeners world, but I can't bring myself to watch it; my brain has usually stalled by then.
HSL were on last week's GW - at about 17 minutes in - if you can stand it!

I'm pretty happy with GYO these days. I record it and can then FF through the boring bits. End up watching a good 5 minutes of it if I'm lucky.

I did when I went, looked at the menu and picked the thing that I liked the best which happend to be veggie. Funnily enough both me and OH said last night that we'd have picked the mushroom dish last night too and both of us eat meat and fish.

I don't think it was ever promoted as a GYO show, none of his shows are although they do usually include a bit. Hugh's programmes have always been lifestyle ones really. I liked it although did find it rather slow at times. OH and myself looked through the book afterwards and selected a few recipes we'd like to try so am generally happy and will look forward to it next week, at least it's something worth watching on a Sunday for the first time in years

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I like a fair few recipes in Hughs new veg book so I'm sure I'll enjoy the series.

I've bought the book for my SIL for Cool Yule. I am very tempted to keep it for myself.

I thought it was a good episode - it's not often you see cooking shows (and it IS a cooking show) that does only veggie food. Nice inspiration - that soup at the start made me have soup for tea today!
Oh and Hugh has lost a bit of weight I think.. He looked rather skinny!

we caught up with it tonight and whilst I'd rather have had the lamb than the polenta we are definitely going to cook the carrot with oranges and cumin with rice and curried savoy and leeks........... it looked lovely!

We watched it last night, and both enjoyed it. I didn't feel that he rammed anything down our throats, and I didn't find it preachy either. The 'spit-roast' Veg in a basket looked so good, I could almost smell it.

He has lost weight, and I think the haircut has tidied him up a bit; he always has looked a bit scruffy for TV, as far as I'm concerned. Can't get used to the new tidy version just yet. (Says me, the scruffiest person in the County!)

We will be watching the rest.
