I am a sucker for crisp cotton sheets - ironed or line dried and folded carefully and aired to avoid ironing!
And my latest luxury is linen sheets - also linen and cotton mixed. Beautiful - I get the best sleep with these!
I love cotton sheets too, as you say, they are lovely if they are ironed and lovely and crisp (a bit of a bu@@er to iron though)
I don't know who you are asking MOM but my Granny always had a g'sunder in her bedroom, actually they had his and hers - one for Granny and one for Grandad!

Like Jeanie and Scarey, I love cotton sheets. They have to be white too - dunno what it is about coloured sheets. I gave up ironing them years ago, due to lack of time, really, but I do love them crisp. I buy expensive Egyptian cotton ones on eB*y when they're cheap! Even cr*p linen can be expensive - good linen is extortionate in some places. I always check shop prices before I go to eBay, coz I'm tight like that!

Hi Wendy. We had candy striped flannelette sheets. I've still got one!
I still have these and use them! I make the bed, first with an old thick blanket against the mattress then of the striped flanelette sheets, then a bottom sheet then a top one (usual these days I know) then my lovely quilt! Thought I was the only one!
Hence me sleeping with my sisters. My five brothers shared a bedroom with two double beds and a single, they fought almost every night over who got the single, but the eldest usually won.
When eldest was little she used to take the duvet and crawl into the cover with it ........actually she's still probably small enough to do that.(well with a kingsize one)

Oooh I remember the stripey sheets, they were lovely. Nylon fitted sheets were another mater, horrid things. As a kid we had sheets and blankets, then eiderdowns. Ice on the inside of the windows in the winter brrrrr. Leccy blanket at my nans though
