I was just the same. Eventually, a blood test revealed an under active thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) and I don't feel quite as cold any more. Nor as tired.

No heating on here yet...but I over heat at the best of times. Jinny's got a fur coat but he still loves it when the heatings on. I have an elderly neighbour that he visits most days because she has the fire on , plus she gives him treats.

I haven't stopped using a hot water bottle all year. Some of us really suffer in the cold ~ it's not even frosty yet, but my fingers are so cold all day that they won't bend, or feel anything

Me being me mine is never truely turned off. The programmable digistat is set from 7-30am to 8-30am at 20`C and from 4-30pm to 10pm at 21`C at all other times its set to 12`C if ever the temperature drops below those given figures the heating comes on. It is false economy to allow the house to fall to low in temp over night or during the day when you are out as when your heating comes on the fabric of the house soaks up the heat.

To make things cheaper all the radiators except the hall which controls the digistat have thermostatic rad valves so the rooms can be set to individual temps. So combined fuel bill for the year is just over £800.
