Me an' Mr.G an' the Dawg will be hauling the tin tent to the wilds of Wiltshire in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions for entertainment thereabouts? We will be staying slightly west of Trowbridge. Thanks in advance.

What do you like to do? There's lacock, the courts gardens in holt, Westonbirt arboretum(40 mins drive) bradford on Avon - lovely village and canal for walks. Bath is just 20 mins drive. Longleat (about 20 mins) if you like that kind of thing. And I'm 10 mins away if you fancy a cup of tea!

Well, himself will be on a training course, so me an' the Dog will be wanting to bimble around. I fancy Westonbirt - will have to check for dog admission. We went to Bath, several years ago, and did the tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Walks by a Canal sound fab. Thanks for that, Scarlet, greatly appreciated. I'm off for a quick G**gle.
Just checked, and both places are Dog friendly!Last edited by Glutton4...; 22-10-2011, 06:15 PM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Bradford on Avon is lovely, if you do go go to this tea shop - Victorian Tea Rooms & Restaurant Bradford on Avon, Traditional Food - The Bridge
If you come over Bath way, this is an unusual herb nursery - Arne Herbs - Rare Plants and Herbs Nursery - Herbs Supplier of Cooking Herbs, Medicinal Herbs and Unusual Historic Plants near Bristol UK
Or Shepton Mallet way there is Kilver Court, we got some medieval broad beans when we went
Or here Trowbridge Museum - Visit Wiltshire

Just remembered that when we went to BOA the tea shop was full, so we ended up in a coffee shop not far from it up a hill. It was called something like Ye Olde Worlde Coffee shop. The people in it were in stockings and smocks. Anyhoo, one of the best scones I've ever had.

I love to walk from the tithe barn in Bradford on Avon (some lovely shops there) along the river which then joins up to the canal on onto The Cross Guns for lunch. You can park your car in Bradford on Avon car park by the train station.

OK Wiltshire - we're heading your way on Sunday.
Weather forecast not looking good, so Wellies, Coats'n 'Ats will be packed. The Dawg has his own fleece too!
Mr.G will be busy training all week, so if you spot a lost soul in a Silver Disco, with a Golden Retriever in the back, it may be me!All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment
