Weather forecast not looking good, so Wellies, Coats'n 'Ats will be packed. The Dawg has his own fleece too!

Mr.G will be busy training all week, so if you spot a lost soul in a Silver Disco, with a Golden Retriever in the back, it may be me!
...and if you see a mad mum, extra short with a welsh accent, a collie and her twin boys in tow (usually fighting) that'll be me! Try to make Westonbirt if you can, it's fab a the moment!

Does this mean no G4 for a whole week, won't know what to do with me self.

Enjoy your trip and return safe.

Don't forget Stone Henge, Sailsbury and isn't Melton Mowbury in Wiltshire? So if you fancy a bit of pork pie... But if I were you, I'd just push on to Cornwall and come for a bracing walk on the beach with me an' Beau. I've made bread pudding......

Yes, Scarlet, Westonbirt is my first point of call once I'm settled. I don't want to get there after all the leaves have hit the deck! Probably Tuesday or Wednesday, I reckon.

Don't panic, Potty - the Poota comes with me. I'll find wi-fi somewhere. (I've given up on Dongles, but that's another story!)

Hi CT - Melton Mowbray is in Leicestershire - ya nutter! Now Oscar and Beau together on the beach would be fab! Oscar hasn't yet seen the sea. Luckily for you I don't like Bread Pudding But I can easily polish off a pile of Scones and Clotted Cream. When in Rome, as they say!

Don't mean to nick the thread but G4 if you've had experience of dongles would like to know as the son is thinking of going that way with his laptop.

I've had three, Potty. One worked fine on Mr.G's Samsung but not my Mac, then stopped working. The next worked on my Mac, until I was away from home then it went on strike. The third, worked perfectly for my Dad, but won't work for me. I gave up.

I will upgrade, one day to an iPhone 4 and use that in place of a dongle. I don't think my old 3g will tether, and I don't have the correct tariff at the mo. I guess I shall have to swallow my pride and go to the nearest Maccy D for a coffee and use their Wi-Fi.

As to the Pork Pie debacle - I was thinking of "Bowers" pork pies - "Bringing you the wealth of Wiltshire" Personally, I thought they were a bit carp.
                        Scones are in the oven......

Well, thanks everyone - the wilds of wet and windy west Wiltshire were wonderful!

Westonbirt Arboretum was absolutely lovely, even though most of the display was on the ground! I wish it was nearer. Bradford on Avon was beautiful, as was Lacock. Local hostelries were great, the highlight being the Somerset Arms in Semington - food was superb. Weather was a little wild, but not too bad, and our caravan has a heater, so we were fine.

We may well go back next year.

Haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if this has been mentioned, but isn't there a Safari park there? We're going to Centre Parcs next year, in Longleat - and I'm sure there was a mention about a safari park.
