Is anyone carving pumpkins this year? What designs are you thinking of?
I love pumpkin carving, and have produced some beauties over the years (even though I say it myself) but this year I'm stuck for inspiration. I've joined several USA sites about pumpkin carving and have a few books about it as well, but just can't think of anything new to do.....
......We've done pukin' pumpkins, and big pumpkins eating little pumpkins and vice versa. Pumpkins blowing their brains out, pumpkins on 'blood' drips, and I've done all the usual Hallowe'en designs, and some cute cartoon characters (neighbours complained that they were cute not scary) such as Sackboy, Kipper, Snoopy and Tigger.
I'm contemplating owls. I found a great photo of a flying owl clutching a jack'o'lantern in his talons, but I need the stencil to see it properly and that can't be found (must be a private design) so I've found a few others but they don't grab me like the first one.
Any ideas?
Jules
