A field of yellow!!!

Yes - that's what I saw this morning on my way to work!!!
A field of oil seed rape in flower, it looks like it is a 'freshly sown' field as opposed to 'left over' plants from last year, which I also saw this morning.
My poor girls they will be confused...... I am confused too

I've seen one just recently too - on the way across to the coast. I guess it was ready so early this year they've gone for a second crop. Wonder if it'll work!

Usually, by October, I have stopped the constant sneezing and the itchy eyes, but not this year. Haven't seen any rape fields but certainly lots of late hay cuts going on here.

I wouldn't be surprised if it had been genetically modified to flower through the winter!

Either that or the farmers other brassicas have run to seed!

Could possibly be a field of stubble turnips (grown for animal feed) in flower?

I have the funiest of feelings that oilseed rape is a brassica or at least closely related. I'm gonna go google it in case I've made a pratt of myself(again) with that statement

Oilseed Rape (Canola) Yups it is. Thank goodness for that.

Deffo is, along with wallflowers,radish,swede,turnips and various other veg and weeds which people don't associate with brassicas!

Yes its a brassica and yes, most definitely coming into flower.
I will have a close look this weekend and even try and get a pic!
I am 99% sure its rape...GM well I am not sure, but it is only about 8-9inches tall.
Maybe it thinks its gone through winter (we have had a few sharp frosts here) and now it's spring???
