No, missed the nail by about 2mm. Have tapped it a few times and it's not too painful. However, I forgot myself last night and gripped the doorkey as usual. That smarted.

I have this theory, well, at least it works for me.
Every year, the month of october seems to always be a heavy one for me. In one way or antoher, I end up wishing that the month would pass without any more 'flutterby moments'.
This month is no exception.

My Ma said it's because the days after Navratri and before Diwali are always called the 'dark days' and are hard to cope with.
This month, a good friend who has been staying with me whilst she sorts her house out has decided to turn very dodgy (alcohol involved) and is causing me a lot of 'flutterby moments' Has said that she will move out in the next few days so I can start November in peace.
Nothing like the hurty fairy's work for HeyWayne and others but I am beginning to think that the hurty fairy works in a different way for me...and causes mental anguise more then physical pain to me. :-\

or you could just be expecting things like that to happen, and so they do. And you ignore all the other months that this kind of thing happens because it doesn't fit into your particular superstition
