We couldn't afford records, but the first LP I got of my own (I nicked it out of my best friend's bedroom) was Kings of the Wild Frontier by Adam and the Ants ... still got it, loaded on the iPod

Sorry to hijack your thread Beefy but...

Can I ask if anyone happens to have a copy of Big Rock Candy Mountain on 78 - by Burl Ives? I am desperate to find a copy - also Champion the Wonder Horse (can't remember who did that one) and Little Brown Jug (again can't remember who by) all on 78. If anyone has them and is prepared to part with them I would be interested.

Do you remember Dirk wears white sox? Just before the album came out. Every girl at school seemed to have it and then all us boyfriends had to suddenly get all New Romantic along with them. Bloody hilarious. I remember getting a ridiculous Phil Oakey wedge thing. Would be totally impossible nowadays!
