    Check out the WI website OWG. They have a bit of advice on there - but you probably already did that.

      When I was making jams jellies, pickles, chutneyds and sauces, I did register with EH and got my food hygiene cert.
      Now I only make chilli sauces to sell once a year so don't bother too much with current legislation.
      I do however still put the following info on my labels (which is a legal requirement if you are going to sell them for profit.
      Name and Address
      Contents Name
      Net Weight
      Batch Number
      Best Before Date (I usually just make this 12 months after date of manufacture)
      Ingredients list (in descending order)

      I know others who only sell once or twice a year and all they have is a label saying what the preserve is, but as I was already doing all the above, it is no problem for me to continue doing this.

        just done labellng on a bee keeping course
        the above is right
        weight need to be in grams first then lbs 454g 1Ib net and a legal size (big)
        you can specify the area where it's produced for example lancashire jam
        you only need a batch number if selling through a third party.
        you must have the country of origin on it
        you can now say made in england instead of uk if you want , adding the country to
        the end of your address is not acceptable

          Personally for a one off, i would just go along with your Jams and Preserves having put a basic label on them and enjoy yourself.
          For a once a year table top sale, no one's really going to care too much.

                Didn't realise they helped with product branding, but hey, advice is advice...

                Have to say, Shelley's Jellies sounds great. Easy to say, easy to remember, product and source described in a oner.
                There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
